Francophonie and cinema: A unique breakfast at TIFF

As part of the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) , the Canadian Club of Toronto invites you to an exceptional conference on Canada's evolution as a prime destination for American film productions. Under the theme "Hollywood of the North: Film Production in Canada ," this panel will bring together industry experts to discuss the significant economic benefits and impact on Canadian and Francophone productions.

Key Points of Discussion:
  • The allure of American productions: Our panelists will explore why Canada has become a preferred choice for American film shoots. From Toronto to Vancouver, by way of Montreal, the country offers not only diverse landscapes, but also competitive tax incentives and a world-class production infrastructure.
  • Economic Impact: The discussion will focus on the economic impacts of this influx of international production. What are the benefits for local workers, suppliers, and regional economies? How does this production stimulate employment and investment in related technologies and services?
  • Impact on Canadian and Francophone Productions: As Canada attracts more and more Hollywood projects, how does this influence local production? Panelists will examine the opportunities and challenges for Canadian creators, particularly for Francophone productions, in an increasingly internationalized environment.
